Will Writers in Kent Estate Planning is the process of arranging for the management and disposal of your Estate. Estate Planning is not only about arranging your affairs when you’re gone, but also making sure that you have everything in place should you become incapacitated.

The ultimate goal of an Estate Planner is to listen to your needs and may be as simple or complex as the needs dictate. This is your Estate and we are here to listen and cater to your needs and wishes More than half of UK adults (53%) do not have a Will.

This includes nearly eight million people over 50 who have yet to make a will, according to a recent study by Saga. More worryingly, 47% of people who do have a Will have not had a review to make sure everything is updated.

This should be every five years. Our Consultants offer free reviews to make sure that everything is in order and that you are fully protected.

Why do I need a Last will and testament?

A Last will and testament is one of the most important documents you will ever make, yet over 50% of adults in the UK still do not have a valid Will. A Last will and testament makes it much easier for your family or friends to administer your estate when you die – without a Valid will the process can be more time consuming and stressful.

• If you do not have a valid Last will and testament, everything you own will be shared out in a standard way defined by the law [intestate law] which isn’t always the way you might want your estate to be passed down.

• Writing a will is especially important if you have children or other family who depend on you financially, or if you want to leave something to people outside your immediate family. It is recommended that you review your will every 3 to 5 years or following a change in your circumstances (whichever is sooner).

Your wishes may not have changed, but the value of your assets and the law may have. Changes such as marriage, divorce or changes in the circumstances of your executors, guardians or trustees are examples of reasons why you should review your existing will. As such, it is very important to ensure that your will is fit for purpose and still protects your assets and investments. Don’t make the mistake of putting your will away and forgetting about it.
